Privacy Browser, Wallet, Token

The creators of the privacy-focused Brave web browser have published a report highlighting progress made with their multichain wallet and BAT token in 2022 and revealing plans for 2023.

The "State of the BAT 2023" report looks at various facets of the Brave ecosystem, including $BAT, Brave Ads, Brave Wallet, Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs), and the Brave community.

2022 was a foundational year for Brave, BAT and Community.

In this post, we take a look back at key accomplishments from last year and lay out our goals for $BAT for 2023, including product improvements, creator collaborations, and business partnerships: https://t.co/dVJyKZd3dh

In addition to its privacy features, the Brave browser attempts to supplant typical online advertising with a model where users earn $BAT (Basic Attention Token) for receiving ads delivered by the browser. In turn, users can use $BAT to “tip” any of their favorite content creators.

Here are some key points from the new report:

  • $BAT is the 13th-most distributed token on Ethereum (with 464,000 holders).
  • The introduction of the multichain Brave Wallet in 2022 resulted in growth of $BAT holders on other chains, including nearly 24,000 holders on BNB Chain.
  • More than 900 advertisers have initiated 6,600 Brave Ad campaigns.
  • More than 1.7 million content creators have registered to receive $BAT tips.
  • Brave launched its first BAT NFT mint on Solana in Nov. 2022 in partnership with Adam Ape.

The report also previews plans for 2023, including:

  • A new Sage mint for the BAT x Adam Ape for Brave collection.
  • Multiplayer game Degen Royale has integrated 3D avatars from Brave’s first NFT collection.
  • Introduction of Pay with BAT options for on-chain payments.
  • New partnerships with gaming entities, including XBorg, ev.io, and more to come.
