At Crypto Summit 2023, Ripple CEO Brad GARLINGHOUSE and Montenegrin Prime Minister Dritan ABAZOVIĆ discussed the financial future of the Southeast European nation. It was about developing a payment infrastructure that can provide greater financial inclusion.
The Prime Minister also revealed that Montenegro is working on a digital stablecoin project:
“In collaboration with Ripple and the central bank, we have launched a pilot project to create the first digital currency or stablecoin for Montenegro.”
Whether the Ripple-issued cryptocurrency, XRP, will be part of the stablecoin pilot project is still unknown.
