Among Decentraland’s many goals is to focus on growing its community of content creators. In its plan for 2023, the metaverse on blockchain has decided to increasingly simplify the use of the DCL platform so it can add more features that do not exclude any creators.
In this regard, in its blog post, Decentraland writes:
“Special attention will be given to growing Decentraland’s creator community by making creation in DCL more accessible to all and providing creators with better tools to help them unleash their creativity in Decentraland. Thus, 2023 is dubbed as, ‘The Year of the Creators’!”
In the roadmap dedicated to creators, Decentraland talks about reducing the need to write code and providing a more accessible user interface that can make 3D assets drag, adjust, scale, rotate, and move freely.
Not only that, in the plans is the ability to use the Alpha version of SDK 7, which offers improved performance. But also the latest version of TypeScript (ES6) that provides access to more powerful features such as the Map() function.
Improvements are applied ranging from button actions, the pitching of an audio sample, up to the positions of cameras and the avatar and its custom animations.
Decentraland and its 2023 goals
Beyond the technical features dedicated to creators, Decentraland is also thinking about the monetization of their content.
And indeed, among its goals is to include not only payments in MANA, but also payments in FIAT currency. These will be used to purchase NFTs from the Marketplace using credit/debit cards directly or from Apple and Android pay phones.
Not only that, staying with the Marketplace theme, there will be high-visibility event-themed campaigns available, such as that of the upcoming Metaverse Fashion Week 2023. In this sense, creators will be able to boost their sales during the event by posting tagged items that will be highlighted in the Marketplace in the section dedicated to the event.
Finally, the Decentraland Foundation wants to value creators and give them the opportunity to let their work shine by removing barriers that hold back creativity and ensuring that their work is discoverable and easily monetized.
MANA’s 40% price pump
In the last week, MANA‘s price has experienced a 40% pump. And indeed, MANA has risen from $0.44 to the current $0.62, even touching $0.75 these days.
The 40th crypto by market capitalization has adapted to the latest general trend in the crypto market, led by the biggest ones, even though the performance of Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) has been inferior. In fact, over the past week BTC has risen 11% and ETH only 10%.
At the time of writing, MANA’s total market capitalization is over $1.5 billion and ranks third in the metaverse category, behind Apecoin (APE) and Internet Computer (ICP).
In addition to recovering from the losses of the crypto winter, MANA is also gaining more than the average of the best-performing crypto assets.
