Opera browser adds support for 2 cryptocurrencies on their crypto wallet app, Bitcoin and TRON.

Opera browser keeps pushing with new development on their crypto-related product.

After officially releasing their crypto-friendly browser for iOS end of last month, Opera Software announces new support addition for their cryptocurrency wallet app.

“Starting today, we have added support for Bitcoin and TRON blockchains,” so the announcement dated July 10th wrote.

Before the update, the wallet only supported Ethereum and ERC-tokens. With the new update, users can send and receive BTC and TRX, including TRC10 tokens using the beta version of Opera for Android.

“It’s now safe to say that our browsers are Web 3 ready and that this should be the new standard for all browsers,” the company claims.

Throwback to December 2018 when Opera became the first major browser that included a native crypto wallet and Web 3 explorer.

The ultimate goal is to bring cryptocurrencies to the mainstream, although, as of now, Web 3 still faces many challenges, such as users’ understanding of new terminology, to difficulties in acquiring cryptocurrency, and complicated installation procedures.

“The decision to add two major blockchains to our platform marks one further step in our strategy to make Web 3 more inclusive and user-friendly for people around the world,” the team closed the announcement.
