Ethereum Founder Vitalik Buterin Accidentally Created A New Memcoin

In a tweet last Friday, Ethereum founder Vitalik BUTERIN joked that a project called “THE Protocol” should be created. According to Buterin, it would be easy to shill by referring to any mention of THE by influential members of the community. Very soon, THE Protocol (THE), the ER20 protocol, appeared. And it's no surprise that the Twitter admins of the new memcoin have taken after the founder of Ethereum by shilling the token whenever someone influential uses the word "THE".

THE decided to give 10% of their offer to Vitalik Buterin, making him the largest token holder with 100 mln THE. The new memcoin managed to grab the attention of some popular Ethereum investors and surged 1,000% in 24 hours on Tuesday. In less than six days, THE is already listed on Hotbit and MEXC Global. Moreover, it has already attracted a market capitalization of over $6 mln.

In the crypto space, few things are more exciting than memcoins, which can be very volatile and deliver huge returns based on little or no utility other than the fact that people talk about them. THE is already up 97.7% today, trading at $0.03352854, according to CoinGecko.
