Verge (XVG) appears to be going through a quiet time with many within the crypto community concerned about the lack of noise coming from the blockchain project. However, Verge released its iOS Wallet towards the end of the first quarter which was an important update for the blockchain.

With more updates expected in the second quarter Verge (XVG) has continued with its commitment to its roadmap. Looking at its roadmap there are three imminent developments that are at different stages of completion.

Verge (XVG) Mining Update

Verge (XVG) uses the PoW (Proof of Work) mining algorithm protocol which enables efficient mining. However, there have been some complaints about some aspects of the mining process and the blockchain platform is looking to solve this with its proposed mining update.

The mining update would include an XVGui Miner for Windows operating system, an official mining pool and a revised mining guide. As at the time of writing this update is at 80% completion rate.

Rebased Codebase For XVG Blockchain Network

Verge (XVG) has been committed for the past 10 months with its intention to rebase its entire codebase to the latest standards used by Bitcoin. This decision had been forced on the coin after it was hacked 12 months ago with millions of dollars stolen during the hack.

The process has taken time as the coin had to update its entire security protocols and incorporated novel changes to its source code.

According to the latest report on its roadmap, the rebasing is 97% complete and it would soon be released initially as a public beta in a couple weeks’ time.

Fully Functional Verge (XVG) Electron Desktop Wallet

Verge (XVG) has continued to have problems with its desktop wallet versions despite the numerous updates that have been released to provide a stable environment. This was to be expected as the blockchain are currently working on the final version of the Electron wallet.

It is expected that this final version would incorporate many user-friendly features in it which would allow easy use by XVG hodlers.  It is understood that the developers at Verge are looking to complete this fully functional Electron wallet within the Q2 of 2019.

As at the time of writing the project has reached near completion with 85% and the coin is looking to release the wallet sometime in the coming weeks.

Verdict

It remains to be seen if these expected changes would impact the price of the coin which currently trades for 0.007. Nevertheless, the Verge (XVG) has continued to display its preparedness to move ahead with technological improvements to its blockchain network.
