Vitalik Buterin: I’m not visiting CoinDesk’s conference as they post links to scams
Creator of Ethereum Vitalik Buterin will not attend the digital currency conference called Consensus 2018 due to the fact that CoinDesk, a news agency acting as a holder of the event, has made a big mistake.
I am boycotting @coindesk's Consensus 2018 conference this year, and strongly encourage others to do the same. Here is my reasoning why.

1. Coindesk is recklessly complicit in enabling giveaway scams. See their latest article on OMG, which *directly links* to a giveaway scam. pic.twitter.com/WDr9uZ8XOw
One of the news materials regarding the recent OmiseGo growth had a link to the fake website of the project instead of a real one, and this could have helped the fraudsters greatly. By the way, Bitnewstoday has briefly described the growth in one of the reports on the overall state of the crypto market. Our correspondents did not use that toxic material as a reference.
As the main victim of CoinDesk’s mistake, OmiseGO has, of course, supported Vitalik Buterin’s decision, and so did the management of Cosmos and Cardano. One might say that the true consensus in this story is not the name of the crypto conference, but the joint reaction of the crypto community.
One of Bitnewstoday’s materials has also been commented by Vitalik Buterin once: after the Reddit repost of his quote on 90% of ICO startups and the following big number of upvotes and positive comments, he stated that he didn’t see anything new in the old law of startups market:
Where I get 472 reddit upvotes for repeating standard decades-old startup wisdom, but adding the word "token": https://t.co/Lz6z3Bblmt

And FWIW I agree that only 90% failing is optimistic.
