Arrogant SaveDroid ICO scammers who got $50M disappear with mocking message left
The German company SaveDroid has abruptly closed its business after attracting $50 million by combining its own ICO and traditional ways of investment attraction, business outlets report.
The personality traits of the criminals behind the project make it much more interesting and worth mentioning. Instead of using fictional personalities and imaginary titles while staying in the shadows (like, for example, Bitcoin Candy pump-and-dump coin founders), one of them has revealed his face on Twitter with a mocking gratitude and informal announcement on the closure:
Thanks guys! Over and out ... #savedroidICO pic.twitter.com/PMRtjlbEdD

Another example of the scammers’ audacity is the picture left on the website of the project one can see above. This is a reference to an episode of South Park dedicated to loans and savings scam.
While the criminals may gloat right now, their behaviour may infuriate more victims who will persuade the law enforcement to search for them more actively and accelerate efforts. Another obvious big mistake was to show the face of the founder - with current face recognition technologies, this can greatly help the police. Demonstrating the clear advantages of the digital age and open-source intelligence, someone has already identified the place the scammer took the photo from - presumably, it’s one of the beaches in Egypt:
