Today’s main cryptocurrency events: a video review

16 January 2018 21:00, UTC

Bitnewstoday has prepared a digest for those cryptocurrency investors who prefer not to read tons of separate news messages and instead, watch videos on the topic. Here’s bit of news our site has described today.

First and foremost, Bitcoin has lost a quarter of its price in 24 hours, which turned out to be quite a spectacular event for investors who witnessed the dip even below $10,000. Possible reasons: natural correction, upcoming regulations in China and South Korea.

Secondly, BitConnect confirmed its almost total shutdown, which made the predictions of many cryptocurrency experts come true. It was indeed a pyramid, or a Ponzi scheme. Their own currency lost almost 100% of its initial price.

As Chinese miners prepare to move their business out of the country, so do the neighboring countries which, just as it was with the Chinese cryptocurrency exchange ban, will extremely benefit from the new, stricter regulations on miners. Meanwhile in China, Alibaba plans to launch a cloud mining platform.

In Japan, Mitsubishi will establish a new trust which will help cryptocurrency investors not to lose their money as it was with that disastrous Mt Gox collapse. The asset protection will not be free, of course.
