Ontology, the high-performance enterprise blockchain and distributed collaboration platform, and Berlin’s Hochschule für Technik und Wirtschaft (HTW) University, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to explore joint research and teaching initiatives, with a view to developing blockchain applications.

The agreement will include the delivery of a tailored fellowship degree based on smart contracts, token economics, and the exploration of tangible use-cases. With a strong focus on the digital economy, HTW students will have the opportunity to take part in the development of three unique Proof of Concept (PoC) projects. Commenting on the announcement, Andy Ji, Co-founder of Ontology said,
“We are firmly committed to accelerating the delivery of blockchain education on the global stage and broadening the accessibility of meaningful course content to prospective students. Partnering with HTW gives us the platform to pursue exciting joint research and teaching initiatives, while leveraging the University’s academic infrastructure to connect with students who are keen to explore the potential of decentralized technology.”
Founded in 1994, HTW is Berlin's largest university for applied sciences with almost 14,000 students. The educational exchange will be facilitated through the Ontology Blockchain Academy arm, where Ontology will be the exclusive blockchain and Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) provider used over the course of the academic year.
