Mercedes Tests Blockchain For Supply Chain And Exchange Of Information

08 July 2020 14:55, UTC
The Ocean Protocol blockchain platform and the manufacturer Mercedes Daimler tested the concept of a decentralized exchange of financial and other information between groups of companies and logistics partners. As a result, the test showed that the blockchain is able to monetize Daimler data.

This project will allow large enterprises to safely exchange data, extract information and control access to this information. According to the founder of Ocean Protocol, Bruce PONA, earlier Daimler’s spending on security measures and various types of administration could reach $300 mln a year. Thanks to the blockchain, these costs will be significantly reduced.

The exchange of information about sales, the state of finance, the purchase of spare parts and equipment with the use of the blockchain is especially necessary against the backdrop of COVID-19. As a result of the collaboration between Ocean Protocol and Daimler, the OCEAN Protocol token has risen in price by 15%. At the time of writing, the token is being traded at around $0.092066.
