Just Eat to Accept Crypto Payments
Food delivery service Just Eat France has begun accepting payments in bitcoins for orders from more than 15,000 restaurants in the country. The delivery service uses Bitpay as its Bitcoin payment provider. To make a Bitcoin payment, you need to create a digital wallet by downloading a special software or application.
During the coronavirus pandemic, home delivery services were in high demand due to social distancing rules, with the use of cash declining. Now the food industry is turning to cryptocurrency as a viable payment method for customers.
Bitcoin payments will be calculated based on the current price charged by Bitpay. However, if the Bitcoin payment is canceled, the customer will receive a refund in Euros and the payment will be sent to the customer's traditional bank account. By making the initial payment, bitcoins are already converted into Euros. Therefore, the rate applied at the time of payment will be the rate applied for the refund.
