Dole Food Company, Inc. collaborates with IBM, Walmart, and other partners to bring the blockchain-solution to the supply chain. Dole is the largest producer of fruits and vegetables in the world, operates in 90 countries and has 36,000 employees.

For the first time, IBM Dole began testing the enterprise grade platform back in 2017, using it to increase the confidence of retailers and consumers by tracking and authenticating products. The company says that the deployment of the blockchain-solution will be completed by 2025. In addition, the integration of the blockchain in 2019 allowed several retail customers to transfer data of salads and fresh vegetables on the supply chain.

Dole Food Company Inc. also emphasizes the fact that blockchain technology helps ensure transparency in the supply of products and provide the food safety audit process. The whole process using the blockchain will take several seconds instead of several weeks, as it was before. Consumers will be able to find out the origin of the products by scanning the packaging for detailed information about them.
