ZCash added on Gemini, grows over 40%

14 May 2018 21:00, UTC

ZCash (or Zcash, ZEC) has been added to the cryptocurrency exchange Gemini. This organization does not have a big list of available digital currencies: before ZEC was added, there were only Bitcoin and Ethereum.

The price dynamics of ZCash has been directly affected by this event: at the press time, Coinmarketcap shows a 46% increase just in 24 hours. While this volatility is unimaginable in the classic or fiat market, in the world of cryptocurrency there are many similar examples of behavior of cryptocurrencies after addition on a new exchange.

The price of Bitcoin on Gemini serves as a reference for the Chicago Board Options Exchange and its variant of Bitcoin futures. The exchange is partly owned by the Winklevoss brothers who are clearly interested in the further development and institutionalization of the market.

ZCash has been endorsed by Edward Snowden, former NSA agent who decided to publish the information regarding the agency’s surveillance capabilities which seriously violate privacy of the United States citizens and residents of other countries. As he said, ZCash is hard to ignore because it has been made by professional cryptographers, and this makes it “the most interesting Bitcoin alternative”.
