Wozniak got Bitcoin-scammed for $70,000

27 February 2018 21:00, UTC

Steve Wozniak who has invested in Bitcoin in the past has become a victim of an unknown scammer. The famous person on the tech scene told this recently at the major event called Global Business Summit.

Seven bitcoins have been transferred, but the payment transaction got cancelled by the malefactor. This “transfer in exchange for nothing” scam scheme partly resembles the recent case with a much less famous person in one of the post-Soviet countries.

The stolen sum is now equal approximately to $70,000, reporters remind. Mr. Wozniak was seen engaging with Bitcoin last year and once, he even called Bitcoin a better investment tool than gold, which was very likely a classic verbal market intervention. Since that statement, he decided to sell his bitcoins and his tone about cryptocurrency became less positive.

Steve Jobs, another founder of Apple, has passed away in 2011 and has almost certainly never talked about cryptocurrencies. His successor Tim Cook has once been asked a question about digital currencies at some shareholders’ meeting which he preferred to ignore.
