USA and South Korea discussed crypto exchanges hacks among other threats
According to Yonhap, a South Korean media agency, the recent Seoul meeting of the United States and the Korean Republic officials had cryptocurrency brokerages’ hacks as one of the points of the general cybersecurity agenda.
The Korean side was headed by Moon Duk-ho, ambassador of the country’s Foreign Ministry for international security. According to the press, the delegation contained members from the law enforcement and even from the Defense Ministry.
The main representative of the United States was Robert Strayer, deputy assistant secretary for cyber and international communications and information policy of the U.S. State Department. The delegation of the United States has also had high-ranking military officers.
Quite probably, the North Korean cyber threats were discussed even despite the latest breakthroughs in the field of international communications of this country. The information on this topic being an actual part of the talks has not been verified and should be considered only as an assumption.
The South Korean crypto space has vast exchange platforms, but sometimes they obviously lack adequate means of security. As noted by the local observer, Bithumb has experienced three hacks in 12 months.
I've checked Bithumb address, doesn't seem like the photo of investors rushing to Bithumb headquarters is real.

Investors are currently worried because Bithumb deleted its announcement that it will compensate all losses with company funds.
Third hack in 12 months. Not good.
