Snapchat bans ICO ads
Snapchat, a popular social media and messenger, has decided to follow in the footsteps of other major social networks and prohibited promotional materials related to ICOs - enterprises in which digital tokens are issued; they are bought in exchange for various corporate bonuses (but not necessarily).
The measure is taken in the midst of Facebook, Instagram and Google, Internet whales, deciding to ban ICO ads and cryptocurrency-related paid promotion messages. Messages about Twitter doing the same has still been not confirmed at the press time (22 March 2018, 9:00 UTC).
Quite obviously, the measure will not bring anything good to those entrepreneurs who invested in paid promotion in Snapchat and now have to review the marketing policy.
Messages about the Russian search engine called Yandex have apparently been provoked by the journalists’ misinterpretation of the corporate policy development. The company quickly reacted to the news and told the press that its policy has always dictated that no cryptocurrency-related materials would appear in their environment and therefore this ban was nothing new at all.
