14 October 2017 21:00, UTC

On a closed meeting between the members of the elite Moscow Capital Club, the Minister of Communications of the Russian Federation stated that Russia is going to issue the national cryptocurrency, the Russian AiF tells. This new “cryptoruble” will be issued exclusively by the state and it won’t be mined by independent market players, a 13% fee will be taken by the state from any sell or buying of this cryptocurrency. The same fee will be applied for conversion into fiat ruble to those owners who will not be able to detail the origin of their cryptorubles.

“I am so sure that we will launch cryptoruble due to one simple reason: if we don’t do this, two months later our EURASEC neighbors will,” Nikiforov explained. He might have meant China which is another country lately spotted considering state-issued cryptocurrency.
