Pavel Durov familiarizes US regulators with investments in the future ICO of Telegram Open Network
The Russian media has published a new info regarding the business activities of Pavel Durov. This successful digital entrepreneur was born in Russia and founded VK, a social media site very popular in the CIS countries. He has also created Telegram, a messenger with highly-secure means of information exchange.
The documents which Durov sent to the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) tell about the investors who bought rights for Grams (future tokens) in advance. These tokens, as already described in older reports by Bitnewstoday, will work within the blockchain-based structure called Telegram Open Network. The U.S. laws dictate that tokens are securities, and Pavel Durov has decided to abide by them.
This aside, the documents also make clear that 81 investors have already put money into this project, but no names are mentioned. Sergey Solonin and David Yakobashvili, entrepreneurs influential on the Russian market, have already confirmed to the press that they are among these people. Investments made by billionaire Roman Abramovich are in question, and thus it cannot be fully confirmed.
Meanwhile, Herman Klimenko, the adviser of the Russian President on the Web and cryptocurrency-related technologies, in his own Telegram channel mocks the distrust towards governments previously repeatedly voiced by Pavel Durov, and tells that the entrepreneur is now contradicting himself.
