Kazakhstan already sees benefits from Chinese restrictive cryptocurrency policy

24 September 2017 21:00, UTC

Kazakhstan, a former Soviet country west of China, might become one of the benefiters from the unwise decisions of the People’s Bank of China. As the nominee for the South Korean government once correctly noted, the restrictive policy in one country means benefits for rivals and neighbors – and this principle has demonstrated its truthfulness after the ICO ban and cryptocurrency exchange restrictions in China.

A large conference, titled B lockchain & Bitcoin Conference Almaty, will be held in Kazakhstan soon, on 28th of September. The organizers promise to invite all leading specialists on the matter and to provide a good discussion environment. The conference will be divided into three discussion blocks – the first will be on Bitcoin in general and its regulation in particular, the second is going to be dedicated to blockchain solutions for various needs, and the third – to the initial coin offerings, which, unlike in China, are not banned in Kazakhstan. Here are some materials related to the conference our website has managed to acquire:

Considering the facts that Kazakhstan is very close to China and the recent turbulence caused by the Chinese government decisions, there will undoubtedly be what to talk about on this forum. Previously, it was held in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kyiv, Tallinn, Prague and Stockholm with Smile-Expo Company as a primary investor.

In other positive news from Kazakhstan, the local government website posts the news about Chinese entrepreneurs (Maye corporation) proposing to establish a mining farm in the Pavlodar region at their meeting with the officials of Kazakhstan. They noted that the energy prices are six times cheaper than in China, and the overall carefulness of Nazarbayev’s regime to innovations might have played a role as well. The representatives of Kazakhstan government in their response noted that digital currency is a new concept for them and they should thoroughly look into the issue before stating anything specific. However, the overall tone of the website message leads observers to believe that Kazakhstan government recognizes the benefits of the situation.
