Japanese FSA wants big exchanges to delist DASH, Monero and Zcash
The cryptocurrency exchanges of Japan are told to delist DASH, Zcash and Monero, three most famous and efficient anonymous digital currencies. The recommendation is currently informal and it is made by the Financial Services Agency of Japan. This is a part of a governmental strategy aimed at money laundering prevention.
The news seems to be credible, as the Europol has already characterized these three digital currencies as tools of criminals which are making the job of the law enforcers harder. One of the representatives of DASH has recently responded to Bitnewstoday’s inquiry about this matter by reminding about the switchable privacy function, something that cannot be done in inherently private rival currencies. This factor, however, did not seem to stop the Financial Services Agency.
Bitcoin, while initially considered to be an anonymous cryptocurrency even by criminals, has much more transparent blockchain which can even be used in a sophisticated mempool scan, which is likely the reason the criminal syndicates of the world are now starting to abandon it as a means of illicit payments.
If the rumors are correct, the recommendation might soon transform into an official decree, and this can influence the price of three altcoins. Note that this is only one of possible scenarios.
