Japan to participate in G20 cryptocurrency discussion

Japan, liberal toward cryptocurrencies, will take part in the negotiations regarding the issue of cryptocurrency usage by criminal syndicates. These negotiations will be held within the framework of the G20 summit which is to be held from 19 to 20 March 2018.

An unspecified official who will allegedly be one of the country’s representatives on the upcoming summit in Buenos Aires, Argentina, told trustworthy media outlets that although everybody was certain there will be no single position on in-state cryptocurrency market regulation, members of the forum will not fail to achieve common ground on measures aimed at money laundering prevention.

The initial proposition to hold talks on the theme came from the Minister of the Economy of France in December last year, as one can find out in the older report by Bitnewstoday. Since then, Bruno Le Maire’s idea was supported by Germany and America. Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, while not mentioning G20, has also declared that cryptocurrency regulation is an international-scale issue and should be included in the global agenda.
