To improve integrity and security of ads and due to the high quantity of scams in the sphere, the team of Facebook unexpectedly decides to stop giving a green light for promotional messages regarding initial coin offerings and cryptocurrencies.

“We’ve created a new policy that prohibits ads that promote financial products and services that are frequently associated with misleading or deceptive promotional practices, such as binary options, initial coin offerings and cryptocurrency.”

This means no more “NEW DISRUPTIVE ICO FOR REAL” in your news feed, but this also means very bad news for the cryptocurrency market around the world. Among this type of ads, messages about binary options are also now forbidden.

If this is true, then Zuckerberg is not exactly comprehending the consequences of his actions. The market has already fallen approximately -10% at the press time, but it’s unclear whether Facebook’s decision was the direct cause.

Instagram, owned by Facebook, Inc., takes similar measures. Audience Network and Messenger, as Facebook platforms, are subject to these rules as well.
