Crypto: a movie on money laundering reportedly starring Kurt Russell

17 June 2018 21:00, UTC

Kurt Russell will perform in the new digital currency-themed independent film together with Luke Hemsworth and Alexis Bledel. The film title reported by the cinema media outlets is Crypto. The plot of this thriller will involve an agent of an unspecified anti-money laundering agency (the role played by Beau Knapp) engaging with several remarkable individuals - an avid digital currency fan with detective skills (Jeremie Harris), a corrupt powerful accounting officer (Vincent Kartheiser) and an enigmatic art dealer (Alexis Bledel).

John Stalberg Jr, director of the film, has already won some critical appraisal for his debut work called High School.

One can only guess how realistic the character of a crypto enthusiast would be. Considering how hackers were displayed in various movies before, we might easily see another cliché. There is still good news: at a first glance, he is not the central villain of the plot.

Jordan Yale Levine, one of the producers of the upcoming film, has called this work a first crypto-dedicated motion picture and told that the theme of digital currency had captured the attention and imagination of consumers and entrepreneurs all over the world. And indeed, one could already witness this topic mentioned in The Big Bang Theory and Marvel comics.
