Waves becomes cheaper amidst regulatory uncertainties in UK

30 May 2018 21:00, UTC

The cryptocurrency called Waves (WAVES) has lost several percents in 24 hours due to the strange document shared throughout the media. The notice from the Companies House that has been uploaded on Reddit tells that the company would be removed from the register and dissolved “unless cause is show to the contrary”.

The document looks suspicious, but the official website of the Companies House confirms that this notice had been sent to Waves and Mr. Oleksandr Ivanov on 17 May 2018, while also repeating the words from the Reddit screenshot about the dissolution and the register removal. The press, however, notes that the document might easily be a mere reminder to update the legal information about the project or to align it with the British laws more explicitly.

Waves representatives have not yet commented on what this vague document might mean and what steps will they take to ensure the safe future of the project. As a reminder, Waves is a platform to register initial coin offerings launched in 2016 by the entrepreneurs with close ties to Russia. The business ombudsman of the latter country has publicly endorsed the project.
