According to a recent announcement, the ReSea Project has removed 305,240 kg (672,938 lb) of plastic from oceans and rivers. This helped prevent pollution of natural bodies of water such as oceans, rivers and lakes in four months from 15 mln plastic bottles.

The ToolChain VeChain platform tracked the cleanup process from the point of extraction of plastic waste, the sorting of waste, and until it was delivered to the local waste bank. The blockchain-based platform protects data in real time and records all stages of certification. This allows DNV to digitally monitor and audit all plastic charges at any time, notifying all interested parties of any mistakes.

With a community-focused solution, ReSea improves living conditions and awareness in areas with poor waste management. The high level of transparency in the collection process allows businesses to be confident that their participation has environmental and social impacts.
