Two VeChain partners, DNV GL and Deloitte, have joined forces to provide the first set of blockchain-based certificates. Currently, 90 000 certificates have been already moved to a private blockchain. According to Deloitte's report, the innovation provides transparent communication between companies on certification issues.

Issued certificates are stored in a blockchain, tagged digitally, traceable, and immutable. This is achieved by the collaboration of DNV GL and Deloitte EMEA Blockchain Lab. DNV GL CEO Luca CRISCIOTTI said the company has been working on building trust for about 150 years. He also added:

“In the age of digital transformation, there is an increased need for transparency in a volatile business environment.”

Thanks to the blockchain, certificates gain more trust and traceability. Every issued certificate has a unique digital identifier after it has been digitized and sent to the blockchain.

Certificates are issued one time, and the original is stored on the blockchain in a network of computers. In order to protect against fraud, a unique QR code is attached to every single certificate, which is scanned and verified through the blockchain.
