Inflation is currently skyrocketing in Turkey and the Turkish lira has lost almost 50% of its value. This likely explains the fact that 40% of the internet population between the ages of 18 and 60 owns or traded cryptocurrencies in the last 6 months. 59% of crypto investors plan to buy more cryptocurrency in the next 6 months.

Crypto exchange KuCoin conducted a survey among the Turks and made interesting conclusions. 25% of Turkish traders have been trading crypto assets for over a year. There is no gender divide. Turkish women as well as men are involved in cryptocurrency trading and investment. 47% of investors are women and 63% of those interested in cryptocurrency are women.

According to a survey by a major Turkish bank, Turks over 40 are more interested in cryptocurrencies. Stablecoins and metaverse tokens have caught the attention of Turkish traders. Bloktopia was the third asset traded on KuCoin in Turkey last year, Verasity is still popular. Turkish residents investing in cryptocurrencies are focused on stablecoins, derivatives and metaverse projects.
