The Sale of Till Lindenmann's NFT Is Unauthorized

Till LINDEMANN, frontman of German metal band Rammstein, is selling non-fungible tokens (NFT) featuring digital art from his recent video, which was shot at the famous Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg. However, the museum said the sale was unauthorized and violated the agreement that allowed Lindemann to shoot in the museum.

In May 2021, Till Lindemann shot a video for the song "Beloved Town" in the Hermitage. More recently, Lindemann decided to launch an NFT series called NFTill. Eight tokens are placed on the twelve x twelve marketplace and cost from 199 to 100,000 euros. At the time of this writing, none of the available NFTs have been purchased.

The Hermitage said in a press release that these NFTs are in violation of an agreement between the museum and Till Lindemann. The agreement that the singer signed with the museum provided for the use of images of the Hermitage only for the creation of a video. The use of images in the production of commercial tokens is not included in the terms of the signed agreement.
