Brave, a privacy-focused web browser based on the Basic Attention Token (BAT), has doubled its user base during 2020. The growing browser user base is a sign that more and more people are looking to move away from the surveillance economy.

The number of active browser users per month increased from 11.6 mln to 25.4 mln. The daily number of active browser users increased by 126% from 3.8 mln to 8.6 mln. The number of verified content creators exceeded the 1 mln mark. This figure represents those who have chosen to accept the Basic Attention Token as advertising revenue for their work.

According to Brave co-founder and CEO Brendan EICH, Brave looks forward to providing innovative privacy protection tools to users as the global privacy movement grows in 2021.
