The Much Awaited ETC Hard Fork, Mystique, Is Finally Live

Ethereum Classic recently announced that the much awaited ETC hard fork, Mystique, is finally live now. The update was activated at block 14,525,000 as expected. Bitcoin Cooperative clarifies that this is not a controversial hard fork, but just a routine protocol upgrade. By the end of last month, the readiness of nodes across the board was only 35%. As of February 13, the total readiness of the nodes rose to almost 65.4%.

The latest hard fork of the Ethereum Classic network will bring the outstanding upgrades of Ether London to the ETC network. According to Afri SCHOEDON, the most important feature of the ETC network today is protocol parity with other EVM networks. And this is the biggest advantage of using the Ethereum Classic network.

After the launch of Mystique on the Ethereum Classic network, many ETC investors began to worry about how this news would affect its price. Many also speculated that the latest fork came to the rescue of the bleeding ETC market. A few hours before the activation, the price of the coin rose by more than 5%, and fell shortly after. However, many in the community are optimistic. Donald McIntyre of Etherplan emphasized that ETC is definitely in the top 10 blockchains.
