TD Ameritrade: younger generation is largely interested in the coin market
Tim Hockey, leader of TD Ameritrade brokerage, told business-related outlets that millenials, often viewed by the media as some collective bogeyman, actually help TD Ameritrade to develop due to the fact that the vast number of this generation is very interested in cryptocurrency investments and CBOE’s Bitcoin futures to which this brokerage provides access.
Another interesting thing about this controversial social group is it also invests in legal cannabis stocks, which are almost certainly received worse among the older generation, more conservative on the issue of previously illegal substances.
While millennials were the hot negative topic in the headlines a season ago (mostly, they were accused of being too disruptive), the overall tone of the businessmen changes once they manage to meet their demands, like in this case with cryptocurrency trade.
The chief executive of another company, U.S. Global Investors, is also positive towards the new generation of active investors: he compares the swiftness of how they open new accounts and trade to how they open new Tinder profiles and date.
