Pavel Durov, creator of popular Russian social network, successfully invested in Bitcoin in 2013

Recently Pavel Durov, who created the popular Russian social network called VK, decided to give interview to Bloomberg. Apart from the usual reporter’s story about the past and present life of the entrepreneur (we now know he currently lives in Dubai), turns out this man invested in Bitcoin at values which seem minimal right now.

Although 750 United States dollars per one bitcoin might have been considered a big price in 2013, today Bitcoin costs $16,860, and the initial investment was just a bit more than a thousand dollars. This is, of course, not the enormous 11 million USD the Winklevoss brothers invested and thus lately made 1 billion dollars, but still, it’s a good example of good investment in cryptocurrency at the initial stages. Today he owns no less than 40 thousand dollars in Bitcoin.

When asked about his own opinion on Bitcoin, Pavel Durov called it a digital gold, which makes him a strong cryptocurrency optimist. As observers noted several times, gold will remain an asset even if the whole electricity on the planet is turned off. Anyway, Durov also told that a huge part of the crypto community moved to Telegram, a messenger known by good cryptography tech and also created by this businessman. However, this requires additional confirmation, as many cryptocurrency enthusiasts still read news and react to them on Twitter.
