Opera will add support for eight blockchains to its browser. This option will make it easier for users to access decentralized applications (dApps) and services. Supported blockchains will include Bitcoin, Ethereum, Polygon, Solana, Ronin, StarkEx, Nervos, and Cosmos-based IXO.

According to a company representative, Polygon decentralized applications are now available in the new Crypto Browser on Android and personal computers. Currently, Bitcoin, StarkEx, IXO, Solana, Deversifi, Ronin, Celo and Nervos are only available on the Opera Android mobile app. However, the company promised to add them to the Crypto Browser in the coming months.

The company said it sees 2 layer blockchain networks as a key strategy for its priority to remain independent of the mainnet and connect millions of users to Web3.
