Over $1.6 billion of investment in the blockchain startups has been made with the use of initial coin offerings, or ICO, tells Oliver Bussmann, the President of the Crypto Valley Association, in his latest telephone conversation with CNBC during the show called Alternative Investment. He believes that ICOs are more mature than regular venture capital funding process. He noted that initial coin offerings are held on a global level, and that is something that classic venture capital funding methods can’t always have. One can invest using cryptocurrencies in those companies, and it happens in a digital way, transparent and simple. “Digital assets are going up significantly,” he pointed out.

He also told that blockchain will no doubt transform the banking system as the operations will become much swifter. When asked what if some people lose jobs due to those changes, he replied that there will be some disruptions in the financial system as this recent technology becomes a world standard and will be implemented in more and more financial institutions.

Oliver Bussmann is a fintech expert who was in the high management of Allianz, Deutsche Bank, IBM, SAP and UBS for over 20 years, so he knows what he talks about. Some sites and outlets consider him one of the most influential fintech figures. He is an expert of financial processes optimization, and that experience further reinforces the credibility of his statements.
