Quant, a provider of enterprise-grade interoperability for the secure exchange of information and digital assets across any network, platform or protocol, has announced the new release for the Overledger blockchain gateway, which enables interoperability between blockchains using a single API.

Overledger 2.1.7 allows users to create smart contracts for payments using tokenized money using an API. In addition, Overledger natively supports twelve programming languages, so no additional language or blockchain is required. In addition, QRC20 smart contracts can be deployed directly on the Ethereum Ropsten testnet directly through the user interface.

QRC20 smart contracts can act like programmable money in an interoperable blockchain payment system. v2.1.7 allows customers to deploy smart money and perform basic payment transactions using a REST/JSON API, including: ‍

  • create a QRC20 smart contract on the Overledger User Interface;
  • make a credit transfer to initiate a QRC20 token payment;
  • initiate a debit transfer to pull a payment of the QRC20 token;
  • pre-approve a debit transfer to pull a payment of the QRC20 token.

Once the QRC20 contract is deployed, the new set of QRC20 APIs will be automatically updated in Overledger to support the newly created QRC20 token.
