Morgan Stanley CEO: Bitcoin is not just a fad

27 September 2017 21:00, UTC

James Gorman, Morgan Stanley chief executive, has previously claimed he does not understand Bitcoin at all and it’s very surrealistic. This was two and a half years ago.

Recently, however, he shared his fresher opinion on The Wall Street Journal conference, telling that Bitcoin is “certainly more than just a fad”, although he himself still does not have a share in cryptocurrency. Gorman told that he talked to many people who do, and while this cryptocurrency is obviously very speculative, it is not “inherently bad, it’s a natural consequence of the whole blockchain technology.”

This sharply contrasts with the position of J.P. Morgan Chase chief executive, Jamie Dimon, that somewhat went viral in the cryptocurrency community. Dimon rejects to recognize cryptocurrency in general and Bitcoin in particular as a payment method or an investment opportunity and believes it is all a fraud.

The sharing of opinions about cryptocurrencies continues with more and more new interviews. For example, we have already heard what Jordan Belfort, a financial expert and the prototype for The Wolf of Wall Street movie main character thinks on the matter. As the time goes, we are going to hear even more famous people outside cryptocurrency community expressing their views on digital coins.
