Mobility Open Blockchain Initiative: key goals and members
The new MOBI or Mobility Open Blockchain Initiative includes vast corporate players familiar even to those who only recently heard about blockchain: General Motors, BMW, Renault, Ford, IBM, Bosch. There are, however, members which are more focused on actual blockchain software development: Joseph Lubin from Ethereum and Brian Behlendorf who leads Hyperledger. IOTA members will also take part in this new group.
The goals of the new organization include the upgrade of transportation which explains why so many car manufacturers have joined it. Judging by the current technological advancements, the increase of transportation quality might include the upgrade of GPS systems and other means of navigation current high-end cars possess.
The ongoing process of unification of lead blockchain developers will likely accelerate the development of the new technologies, as well as the compatibility of independent structures. For cryptocurrency enthusiasts, this possibly means more news on Ethereum and IOTA external communications and on the approval of their blockchains from usual companies.
