Hardware wallet maker Ledger has suffered a major data leak for the second time this year. The leakage of thousands of customer personal data has increased the threat of SIM swapping.

For the second time this year, the personal data of buyers of Ledger wallets appeared on the network. The leak was posted by several members of the crypto community who discovered files that allegedly contain a "complete database" of Ledger clients, including emails, phone numbers, and even physical addresses.

Ledger downplays the data leak by claiming it's old data from the June 2020 server hack. A wave of phishing attacks followed. Ledger originally claimed there were about 9,500 user data leaked, but now it has been revealed that there were 270,000.
