Kaspersky: the full potential of cryptocurrency will become available 300 years later
Cryptocurrency will work good in a unified world, but the current world is not ready for them. Three hundred years – and digital currency will become amazing, Evgeniy Kaspersky believes.
“I think cryptocurrency is a good idea. It can work very good – precisely what the unified and fully free world needs. In this world, it will work absolutely fantastic,” told the head of Kaspersky Lab.
However, Kaspersky sees obstacles connected with the present world order: “As soon as they [digital coins] start to stand in the way of a state, they will become forbidden in this state… in, maybe, 300 years later they will become absolutely fantastic”.
Russian government plans to develop cryptocurrency legislation in 2018, postponing the discussion. Might be connected to the presidential elections, but it’s only one of possible reasons of this delay.
Before Kaspersky’s statement, the chief executive of Goldman Sachs wrote on his Twitter about possible cryptocurrency use: “Know that folks also were skeptical when paper money displaced gold,” showing much more big-picture thinking than most of his market colleagues and rivals have.
