John McAfee no longer a Monero fan, tells Bitcoin Private would replace it

14 May 2018 21:00, UTC

John McAfee has long been seen as a cryptocurrency enthusiast: he regularly publishes corresponding posts and appears in the news with a new statement on a certain cryptocurrency he wishes to endorse. As witnessed from the latest statement of the entrepreneur, sometimes he can contradict himself.

As the millionaire now believes, the cryptocurrency called Bitcoin Private is much better than Monero and will replace the latter on the Dark Web. In older statements, he was extremely positive about Monero, going as far as to call it “a greatest thing since sliced bread” (22:28). Looks like that since then he had discovered there are things which are even greater.

Speculations have been mounting that John McAfee actually promotes coins for money. The businessman also claims his house was being watched by the Securities and Exchange Commission and boasts about the security measures he installed (demonstrating a monitor with multiple CCTV cameras on his Twitter).

His concerns about the SEC can be called questionable at best, and he is likely trying to impress the public once again. One thing McAfee has been stable about since autumn last year is Bitcoin - he never changed his position about its positive long-term price trend.
