Experimental hard fork named Super Bitcoin activated

11 December 2017 21:00, UTC

Super Bitcoin means Bitcoin made great again, as the developers of this new altcoin claim. They have increased the size of the block in the blockchain of Bitcoin protocol to 8 MB and added Lightning Network and Zero-Knowledge Proof technologies. The project is called experimental and does not want to become “a new, better Bitcoin”, but rather aimed at answering the question “What if Bitcoin was upgraded like this?”

Another cryptocurrency with similar narrative that comes to mind is, of course, Litecoin, which started as a test field for possible Bitcoin upgrades as well. The developers of Super Bitcoin set a coin supply limit of 21,10,000 SBTC.

Exchanges which already agreed to support this cryptocurrency include Huobi, Bitfinex, OKEX and others. Nobody knows how this altcoin is going to develop in price. Bitcoin Cash, for example, was not very expensive until the news about the SegWit2x cancellation arrived — after that, a huge part of those who wanted to support B2X moved to Bitcoin Cash instead. Some external factors might influence the popularity of Super Bitcoin too. And let’s hope nobody invents Super Duper Bitcoin.
