Escobar’s brother launches own cryptocoin

21 March 2018 21:00, UTC

The Next Web reports on the new initiative launched by Roberto Escobar who is the brother of infamous and legendary criminal Pablo Escobar.

Diet Bitcoin or DDX has been launched to intercept or hijack the market share of the original Bitcoin which the white paper of the projects states explicitly. The reasoning behind this strange goal is that Roberto Escobar believes that the original Bitcoin creator is not some tech genius, but actually it was the U.S. government all along.

However, this vision directly contradicts with the recently-leaked batch of secret U.S. government documents. Thanks to Edward Snowden we know that the NSA is trying to intercept personal data of Bitcoin wallets instead of having some advantageous developer tools they would certainly install if they really invented this financial system.

The future market success of the new coin (which is a hard fork of Bitcoin) is unclear. Reports suggest that the initial interest is high, as the website of this digital currency went offline due to the high rate of visitors at the press time. This could have easily been someone’s joke if the aforementioned media didn’t claim that it had an email from Escobar Inc. confirming the involvement of Roberto Escobar in the project.

No complaints from the law enforcement regarding this new endeavor of Escobar has followed yet.
