DragonEx Exchange Hacked, Users’ Assets Stolen

Cryptocurrency exchange DragonEx announced via its official Telegram channel about the hackers’ attack. The statement says that the exchange was compromised and has lost control over the cryptocurrency assets of its users; however the amount of losses is not specified yet.


“Part of the assets were retrieved back, and we will do our best to retrieve back the rest of stolen assets. Several Judicial administrations were informed about this cyber crime case including Estonia, Thailand, Singapore, Hong Kong etc. and we’re assisting policemen to do investigation.”

— the representatives of the DragonEx administration noted in their statement. In addition, they warned about the suspension of all trade operations at this stage. The team found it necessary to clarify that all reports on the development of events, including the loss of assets and details of the recovery, will be published in a week, adding that the exchange "will take the responsibility, no matter what."

Also, the administrator of Telegram-channel Joanne LONG wrote that the team managed to track the withdrawal of funds by hackers to such exchanges as Binance, Huobi and Gate.io. Some of these platforms have already frozen compromised accounts and assets.
