Dallas Mavericks to accept Bitcoin

16 January 2018 21:00, UTC

When Marc Cuban, prominent businessman who invested in cryptocurrency startups, responded on Twitter that people would be able to pay in bitcoins and ether for tickets to the games with Dallas Mavericks, a basketball team he owns, journalists decided to contact this businessman for details.

And Mr. Cuban confirmed that he was not joking in this regard: next season there will be a cryptocurrency payment ability enabled for tickets on matches with Dallas Mavericks, and he also told that apart from preferred Bitcoin and Ethereum, other cryptocurrencies are not excluded. But it has yet to be determined, Marc Cuban told.

This businessman at first had a conservative view of Bitcoin, calling it a bubble, but then he apparently discovered new financial opportunities the crypto sphere provides and decided to invest in several digital currency-related startups and even conducted an ICO of Unikrn, a company which allows betting on cybersport matches’ outcomes.

The profitability of cryptocurrency Dallas Mavericks and Marc Cuban will acquire as a result is now in question, as Bitcoin has plunged below $10,000 and the strong bullish trend the market has seen since autumn has ended.
