Cyprus sees the first Bitcoin ATM

With the recent successful history of Bitcoin reaching fabulous $10,000 per coin, the interest in this cryptocurrency grows from people who usually do not pay much attention to it. The number of Bitcoin-related reports in the traditional media websites, on television and even on the radio has grown as well. This is the possible reason why the Bitcoin ATM has been installed in Cyprus now and not, say, a month ago.

As reported by CoinATMRadar.com, a website which might be interesting for cryptocurrency enthusiasts who would like to know more about the locations of Bitcoin ATMs in their country, this new device at Pitta & More, 56 Griva Digeni, Limassol, is buy-only, has no specified fees and works only with Bitcoin. A humble start, if we remember that in Slovakia, which, unlike Cyprus, is not one of the world’s financial hubs, already has an ATM in the city of Košice, and it accepts both Bitcoin, Litecoin and Ethereum.

The site also provides statistics on the quantity of Bitcoin ATMs, or, as some media outlets prefer to say, BATMs. One can distinctly see that North America has much more BATMs than Europe and Asia. Even Japan, with its very liberal approach toward cryptocurrency, does not have so much devices.
