Currencies Direct tests Ripple payment mechanism

29 May 2018 21:00, UTC

Ripple can celebrate another tactical victory as the large British fiat payments company Currencies Direct successfully tests its xRapid blockchain platform. One should note that the eponymous cryptocurrency - Ripple or XRP - took no participation in this story.

The review of the platform made by the Currencies Direct Chief Product Officer sounds quite sincere:

“Our trial with XRP was a resounding success. We’re currently assessing our next steps, but the evidence we’ve gathered indicates that the use of XRP is a game changer, making payments near-immediate and significantly improving service to our customers.”

Ripple’s long-term strategy is to increase the company’s products presence on the market. For example, it has been seen in a multitude of agreements with the banks of Southeast Asia at the second half of 2017. The promotion of products unrelated to their cryptocurrency can, however, increase its reputation indirectly due to the rise of the brand awareness.

When comes to the price of Ripple, it has not managed to hold positions achieved in 2017 ($3) and currently costs $0.609541 with some occasional signs of approaching the one-dollar barrier.
