Catalonia Has Created Its Own Metaverse
Catalonia's virtual platform, called CatVers, was launched with the support of the regional government and the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce. With this step, the authorities want to present themselves as pioneers in a field that was usually considered reserved for the private sector. CatVers is monolingual and only available in Catalan.
The organizers of CatVers make no secret of the fact that its mission is to preserve the Catalan language, identity and culture in the virtual world as it does in the real world. Access to the Metaverse is provided to organizations and companies that share the goals and mission of CatVers. To do this, you must apply and register through the online form. Once you have access, you can create rooms and provide access codes to your staff or members so they can hold virtual meetings.
CatVers is accessible through any electronic screen device connected to the Internet. There is also talk of introducing a virtual currency into the metaverse. At the end of this year, it is planned to create a virtual campus within CatVers, which will be used by Catalan universities, as well as to hold art exhibitions and festivals in the future.
