Casper testnet might arrive very soon

28 November 2017 21:00, UTC

As suggested by Lane Rettig on Twitter, the FFG testnet for Ethereum protocol upgrade called Casper is well under way. He is one of the programmers responsible for this network. Test nets are made before the actual new Ethereum protocol versions release and implementation so that nothing gets hurt in the middle of, say, a huge transaction of ETH from one wallet to another.

The screenshot in addition to the tweet shows a debugging process with listed validators and miners, and it also perfectly explains why traditional banks of the world prefer to cooperate on fintech with those who already have a vast experience in the technology.

Casper, as we have to remind here, is a version of ETH protocol with the PoS (proof-of-stake) principle together with PoW (proof-of-work). They differ in a way that the first one picks the wealthiest actors in the system, and the second — the most hard-working.

Recently, experts noted that the amount of transactions Ethereum can afford in 24 hours is more than Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Bitcoin Gold, Dash and Monero combined. If the ETH development sphere continues to thrive, we might see even brighter future for this cryptocurrency than today. Mike Novogratz, by the way, assures that Ethereum would triple in price relatively soon.
