Cashless Singapore cafe Ducatus operates with bitcoins and credit cards

28 December 2017 21:00, UTC

Ducatus, a cafe in Singapore not far from the local central bank (the Monetary Authority of Singapore), works only with those clients who pay either with credit or debit cards and Bitcoin. To ease the payments for new clients, they even installed a Bitcoin ATM within the cafe.

The CEO of Ducatus tells this is only the first stage and promises to open more cafes like this one, and even expand outside the borders of Singapore, while also establishing partnership with hotels. He wants to let people know cryptocurrency is here to stay, International Investment tells.

Meanwhile, more and more people join the big group of economists who think Bitcoin is going to crash soon, with Patriarch Equity investment group CEO Eric Schiffer as one of the latest examples. As long as the blockchain of Bitcoin works, however, Bitcoin payments will still be possible in this cafe. Most of those who criticize Bitcoin’s big price growth trend view it as a share or asset class, but it will remain the means of payment even if it suddenly collapses down to $1 tomorrow.
